It was nice to read this not under force by an English teacher. It's known as the modern African novel, and most that came after it are held to its standard. Interestingly, it has so many Western influences--'things fall apart' is a line from Yeats. Read it, a few times. It's fascinating. Another example of European colonialism ruining everything.
