If he hadn't written such an amazing debut novel, this one would have been just as heralded. On its own, it's amazing--it's just hard to compare it to the wonder that is The Kite Runner! I digress. While it's not a sequel, it's in the same vein--this time focusing on the women of Afghan society. It focuses on a mother-daughter relationship, the struggles of being a woman in Afghanistan during the Taliban's reign, prejudice, stigmas, and loss.
